KALUMAKKAYA NIRACHATH/ARIKADUKKA/MUSSEL FRY

FOR THE DOUGH

Boil Rice - Two cup

water. - As required

Shallots chopped - 10 Coconut scrapped - 1/2cup Fennel seed (Perumjeerakam).- 1/2tspn Salt. - To taste

soak boil rice for 5-6hrs in hot water .Grind soaked rice with 3-4tsbp cooked rice.crush coconut,shallots and fennel seeds and mix it in the dough. Mussels(kallumakkaya).

Chilly powder. 1tbspn

Turmeric. Powder. 1tspn Garam masala -1/2tspn

Salt. To taste

Clean the mussels properly and strain the water.stuff the prepared dough inside the shell and steam it in a steam vessel. When it cools down remove the shell and marinate it with chilly,turmeric ,garam masala and salt and deep fry in a pan. arikadukka is ready ....
