Ingredients


Jeerakasala/kaimarice - 2 cups beef - 1/2 kg cleaned and cut into medium pieces Turmeric - 1/4 tsp Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp Salt - 1/2 tsp For masala : Oil - 2 tbsp Onion - 2 sliced Green chilli - 3 Ginger - 1 inch piece crushed Garlic - 5 nos crushed Tomato - 1 big sliced Curry leaves - few Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp chopped Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp Coriander powder - 1 tsp Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder - 1 tsp Water - 1/4 cup For rice : Oil + ghee - 4 tbsp Cinnamon - 1 inch piece 2nos Cloves - 2 nos Cardamom - 2 Boiled water - 5 cup Salt - to taste or 2 tsp Preparation Wash rice, then drain it .In a bowl marinate the cleaned beef with turmeric powder, pepper powder and salt and cook in pressure cooker till its is tender .Heat oil in a sauce pan and add sliced onion, saute for 1 minute .Add green chilli,ginger,garlic and curry leaves, saute for few seconds .Add tomato slices and stir, then add chilli powder,coriander powder and salt .Now add marinate cooked meat pieces and 1/4 cup of water, combine well .Cover the pot and cook it over medium flame for 20 minutes or till the masala is done .When the gravy is thick, add pepper powder,garam masala powder and coriander leaves .Switch off the stove and keep aside .Heat a sauce pan over medium heat and add oil .Add clove, cinnamon and cardamom, wait few seconds .Then add cleaned rice and saute 5 minutes in medium heat , stir continuosly .Pour the boiled hot water and add salt .Cook in medium heat for 5 minutes , then bring heat to medium - low for 5 minutes .Stir 2 to 3 times in between Add cooked thick meat (beef)masala into it and mix well.Cover and cook over medium - low flame for 5 to 10 minutes .Garnish with coriander leaves. Enjoy hot with raita and pickle & pappad.
